Zusammenfassung:	A backrest (200) includes a panel-shaped base member 10 that is provided along a main surface (12) which includes a reference line (13) extending in a direction intersecting a floor surface (F) of a vehicle, and a retaining member (11) that is provided on a front surface (14A) of the base member (10) and that has a front surface (14B) which has a curved surface shape in a state in which the retaining member (11) is supporting a load in a direction toward the main surface (12). Due to this configuration, the retaining member (11) presents a curved surface shape due to the load of a standing passenger when the passenger leans against the backrest (200), and thereby the passenger's body can be stably retained.
