Zusammenfassung:An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method of processing signals in a payment transaction. At a processor, telephonic signals conveying sensitive and non-sensitive information are received. The processor detects sensitive information conveyed by the received telephonic signals and sends the sensitive information to a token service provider. The token service provider is communicatively coupled to a payment transaction entity and configured to generate surrogate information for the sensitive information. The processor receives surrogate information from the token service provider, the surrogate information having been generated by the token service provider. The processor then outputs the received surrogate information to a transaction handling centre such that the sensitive information is not provided to the transaction handling centre. At the transaction handling centre, the surrogate information is included in a transaction request message and the transaction request message is sent to the payment transaction entity. At the payment transaction entity, the surrogate information comprised within the transaction request message is sent to the token service provider. Finally, the sensitive information is received at the payment transaction entity for use in the payment transaction, the sensitive information having been retrieved by the token service provider upon receipt of the surrogate information.
