PRODUCTION OF SECURITY DOCUMENTS HAVING PORTRAIT VIEWS

The production methods and production devices for security documents which are available from the prior art give rise to a considerable outlay when adapting and converting the digital representation of the portrait view for different reproductions on the respective security document. What is proposed for the solution is a method for producing security documents having in each case an individual portrait view in different reproductions having implementation sections for providing digitally coded representations concerning the individual portrait views, for defining in each case an image excerpt within the visual reproductions on the security documents, for determining statistical features of the tonal value distribution for the digitally coded representations in relation to the respectively defined image excerpt, for adapting the tonal values within the respectively defined image excerpt, more particularly for monotonically adapting, spreading, densifying, scaling and/or limiting the tonal values, in the digitally coded representations depending on the statistical features determined in relation to each of the visual reproductions in accordance with the thereby achievable dynamic range, brightness resolution and/or colour resolution, and for creating the visual reproductions during the production and/or personalization of the security documents according to the digitally coded representations respectively adapted in terms of tonal values.
