Zusammenfassung:A method and apparatus for transmitting a multicarrier signal is presented, wherein the signal is generated by applying filtering on a per subband basis, wherein a transmission timing is adjusted with respect to a reference timing by a correction amount, wherein said correction amount depends on an impulse response of the applied filtering. Timing advance for UFMC, here called filtered OFDM, where filtering is applied to a sub-band, generally a resource block. Since the filtering can be different on each sub-band, with different impulse response length of the filters, the TA commands are corrected by an amount of half the length of the impulse response of the filter so that the different sub-band signals when received are aligned at the center of the symbol slot.
