Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a machine (1) for the production of a fiber web (2), in particular a tissue or hygienic paper web or a fiber web (2) which is smooth on one side, having at least one pressure nip (10) which is formed between a shoe press unit (5), comprising a press shoe (6), and a drying cylinder (7), through which pressure nip (10) a water-absorbing carrier belt (11), a water-impermeable press belt (12) and the fiber web (2) are guided, wherein the dying cylinder (7) comprises a cylindrical part (8) and in each case one end cover (9) on the end side. The machine (1) according to the invention is characterized in that the cylindrical part (8) of the drying cylinder (7) consists at least partially of steel.
