Zusammenfassung:	A pipe clamp (1) for connecting a pipe (2) comprises a connection piece (3) which is insertable into one end of the pipe (2), a clamping ring (4) which, along the periphery thereof, has an annular portion (5) and a radially outwardly extending ear (6), which is compressible by a tool, and a tensioning ring (7) which is compressible by the clamping ring (4). The tensioning ring (7) comprises a mounting portion (8) and a tensioning portion (9) adjoining the mounting portion (8), which tensioning portion (9) at least partially projects into the annular portion (5) of the clamping ring (4) and substantially completely surrounds the pipe (2), wherein the tensioning portion (9) has at least one slot (10), the inside width of which, in the compressed state of the clamping ring (4), is virtually or entirely eliminated. Furthermore, the tensioning ring (7) comprises at least one recess (13, 14) which adjoins the slot at least in an end region of the slot (10), wherein the inside width of the at least one recess (13, 14) is reduced upon compression.
