Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for producing a carcass insert of a pneumatic vehicle tyre from a material web (1) which consists of a rubber mixture in which reinforcements (2) running parallel to each other are embedded, wherein the material web (1) is transported via a feeder with feed pans (3, 4) to a carcass drum (5), wherein the material web (1) on the feeder is cut into material web pieces (10) which are each wound onto the carcass drum (5) and the end sections (11, 12) thereof are spliced in an overlapping manner by applying external pressure. The material web (1) is locally stretched on the feeder in a longitudinal direction such that a stretched section (8) containing at least eight reinforcements (2) is formed in which the clear spacing (a) between the reinforcements (2) in relation to the spacing between same in the unstretched state is at least twice as large, wherein the stretched section (8) is cut centrally so that a material web piece (10) is created, the stretched end sections (11, 12) thereof containing and forming the splice area.
