POSITION INDICATOR

A position indicator for a step switch of a step transformer comprises - an indicator device (51), switchable in steps with each switching, for indicating the currently switched position of the step switch, comprising a first and a second indicator disc (21, 26); - an indicator gearing (10), which is coupled to the two indicator discs (21, 26) for driving said indicator discs according to the switching direction and to a switching shaft of the step switch; wherein each indicator disc (21, 26) comprises number sequences arranged along a peripheral line or circular line; - a number of each number sequence of the first indicator disc (21) and a number of each number sequence of the second indicator disc (26) lie alongside each other in such a way that the numbers indicate the currently switched position of the step switch in the form of a total number.
