Zusammenfassung:A gripper mechanism (10) for use with a robotic positioning system. The gripper mechanism (10) includes a housing (12), a gripper arm (14) and a retention projection (34). The gripper arm (14) extends from the housing (12). The gripper arm (14) has a gripper finger (42) provided at a distal end thereof. The retention projection (34) is provided on the housing (12) and cooperates with the gripper arm (14) to exert a retention force on the gripper arm (14). Wherein when an external force is applied to the gripper finger (42) in a direction which is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the housing (12), the gripper arm (14) will move relative to the housing (12) if the external force is greater than the retention force.
