Zusammenfassung:Various embodiments include approaches for servicing a dynamoelectric machine main lead (8). Some embodiments include a method of servicing a main lead (8) in a dynamoelectric machine rotor (1) having a collector end retaining ring (4) retaining the main lead (8), a terminal stud (9) contacting the main lead (8), a winding contacting the main lead (8), and main terminal insulation (12A) proximate the main lead (8), the method including: removing the collector end retaining ring (4) to expose the main lead (8); disconnecting the main lead (8) from each of the winding and the terminal stud (9), during the disconnecting of the main lead (8) from the terminal stud (9), cooling the main terminal insulation (12A) proximate the main lead (8); connecting a replacement main lead (8) to each of the winding and the terminal stud (9); and during the connecting of the replacement main lead (8) to the terminal stud (9), cooling the main terminal insulation (12A) proximate the main lead (8).
