Zusammenfassung:	A platform (42) and lid (44) are connected and operated by a user according to a method of applying a substance (48) to a target region. The platform (42) has an outer side (56) and has an inner side (54) defining a substance support surface (55) on which the substance (48) is supported. The user holds the open lid (44) with one hand while extending a finger of that hand alongside the platform outer side (56) and exerts a force with the finger on the platform outer side (56) in a direction to urge the substance (48) against the target region.
