Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides an image capturing method and apparatus. Image data are captured by means of a plurality of image retrieving modules covering different fields of view. The image data of the individual image retrieving modules are merged by analyzing the overlapping portions of the individual fields of view. In this way, a reliable and efficient merging of image data can be performed in order to obtain a single image covering an extended field of view.
