Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a monitoring method to monitor the built up of obstructing coatings (30) due to coking in sprayholes (14) of a fuel injector jet nozzle (12), wherein an average needle opening time delay of an injector needle (16) to open and close the sprayholes (14) is calculated and compared with individual needle opening time delays of the injector needles (16) of each single fuel injector jet nozzle (12). Further, the invention relates to a compensation method to compensate negative effects due to the obstructing coatings (30) in the sprayholes (14) and to an electronic control unit (24) which is able to carry out the monitoring method and/or the compensation method. |
