A THREE-DIMENSIONAL FULLY FASHION KNITWEAR AND A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MAKING THREE-DIMENSIONAL PATTERNS FOR THE SAME

A fully fashion knitwear made by using a method for generation of contour fit three-dimensional (3D) fully fashion knitwear pattern based on 3D body data of an individual, wherein the fully fashion knitwear means that the knitwear is knitted and looped without cutting and sewing. The method comprised of the following steps: 1. Digitizing an individual to create a 3D body data cloud; 2. Automatically recognizing body landmarks; 3. Extracting the body measurements; 4. a) Calculating the garment pattern block of the digitized surface of the individual according to the extracted body measurements including geodesic (minimal distance) measurements; b) An existing garment pattern block can also be digitized and imported to the program; 5. Transforming the garment block to 3D weft knitwear pattern by introducing horizontal and/or vertical darts; 6. Translating the modified knitwear pattern to knitting diagrams, which can then be transferred manually to knitwear CAD system to control the automatic knitting machine to knit the required knitwear; 7. Translating the modified knitwear pattern to knitting instructions, which can then be transferred manually to knitwear CAD system to control the automatic knitting machine to knit the required knitwear.
