DOMESTIC APPLIANCE WITH GALVANICALLY ISOLATED CIRCUIT PARTS

The invention relates to a domestic appliance H which has a circuit (1) with a first circuit part (2) and a second circuit part (3), which is galvanically isolated from the first circuit part (1). A third circuit part (10) is accommodated in the second circuit part (3), and the second circuit part (3) has a first controller (35) in order to interrupt a supply of power to the third circuit part (10), said controller (35) being actuatable by means of the third circuit part (10) and being designed to establish the supply of power to the third circuit part (10) for a specified self-retaining period. A method is used to operate a domestic appliance (H), wherein the third circuit part (10) is isolated from the circuit part supply (18) in a deactivated state of the domestic appliance (H), and upon activating the domestic appliance (H), the third circuit part (10) is supplied with power and thus the supply of power to the third circuit part (10) is established at least for the self-retaining period; and the powered third circuit part (10) actuates the first controller (35) in order to maintain the supply of power to the third circuit part (10). The domestic appliance may be a laundry dryer and/or a washing machine in particular.
