Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for producing a security element for security papers, value documents, and other data carriers, wherein - a flat film web (8) is provided which has a first film layer (2), a second film layer (4) that is arranged over the first film layer (2), at least one security feature (6) that is arranged between the first and the second film layer and extends substantially over the entire surface of the film web (8), and - laser radiation (18, 18A, 18B) is applied to the film web (8) such that the film web (8) is completely cut in the specified dimensions of the security element (1), and simultaneously the first and second film layers (2, 4) are connected to each other in an edge region (9) of the security element (1) which has been detached from the film web (8).
