Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to methods for operating a sensor evaluation unit and a sensor evaluation unit for the evaluation of measuring signals from a sensor (200), in particular measuring signals from an exhaust gas oxygen sensor of an internal combustion engine, wherein the sensor evaluation unit comprises at least one first measuring current source (230, 235) and an electrical compensation resistor (203) for the comparison of the measurement signals influencing the manufacturing tolerances of the sensor (200), wherein it is provided, in particular, that the balancing resistor (203) is supplied with a measuring current (245), by means of which the decreasing voltage (210, 215) across the balancing resistor (203) is limited to a maximum value.
