Zusammenfassung:	A crankshaft includes: journals (J) that define a central axis of rotation; crank pins (P) that are eccentric with respect to the journals; and crank arms (A) for connecting the journals (J) and the crank pins (P), wherein each of the crank arms (A) or at least one of the crank arms (A) integrally includes a counterweight. The crank arms (A) have a recess (10) in a surface adjacent to a corresponding one of the journals (J), the recess (10) disposed inward of a peripheral region (11) along a periphery of the surface, the recess (10) disposed along the peripheral region (11). With this configuration, it is possible to provide a crankshaft which has reduced weight and increased torsional rigidity in combination with increased flexural rigidity.
