CYLINDER FOR A RECIPROCATING PISTON ENGINE, RECIPROCATING COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME

The present invention relates to a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine and, more specifically, to a gas supply system (1) for a uniflow scavenging type large two-stroke diesel engine. The gas supply system (1) includes a gas inlet valve (2) having a gas inlet nozzle (3), wherein the gas inlet nozzle (3) can be arranged on the cylinder wall (41) of a cylinder (4) of the piston internal combustion engine where the gas inlet nozzle (3) reciprocates. Thus, the present invention is formed to provide fuel gas (5) as fuel can be supplied to the combustion space (42) of the cylinder (4) by the gas inlet nozzle (4) in a state in which the gas supply system (1) is installed. According to the present invention, the gas inlet nozzle (3) is connected to be releasable from the gas inlet valve (2) and be replaceable for the cylinder wall (41), a nozzle axial line (D) of the gas inlet nozzle (3) is arranged at an angle (α) which can be defined in advance for the valve axial line (V) of the gas inlet valve (2), and the fuel gas (5) can be injected into the combustion space (42) of the cylinder (4) at an angle which can be defined in advance for the radial direction (R) and/or axial direction (A) of the cylinder (4) in the operation and installation states of the gas supply system (1). The present invention relates to the reciprocating piston internal combustion engine for additionally adding the cylinder and the gas supply system (1) and to a method to operate the reciprocating piston internal combustion engine.
