CENTRIFUGE

This centrifuge is provided with a bowl which rotates about a vertical axis, has an opening provided at the center of the lower part of the bowl and functioning as an opening for supplying liquid to be treated and as an opening for discharging a centrifugally separated solids cake, and has a tapered section configured so that the radius of the inner peripheral surface of the tapered section reduces downward toward the opening; protrusions which are provided at multiple circumferential locations on the inner peripheral surface of the tapered section and which protrude from the inner peripheral surface; a wing which rotates within the bowl about the vertical axis and which transports the separated solids cake toward the opening when rotating relative to the bowl; and a drive mechanism which either moves the wing to a first height position and rotates the bowl and the wing together or moves the wing to a second height position lower than the first height position and rotates the bowl and/or the wing so that the wing rotates relative to the bowl. The portions of the wing which correspond to the protrusions are cut into a shape which allows the wing to rotate without colliding with the protrusions when rotating relative to the bowl.
