METHOD FOR PRODUCING A VEHICLE TYRE

The invention relates to a method for producing a vehicle tyre, comprising the following steps: * completing a tyre carcass (9, 10) having a ply fold-over (6) on a carcass drum, * removing the tyre carcass (9) having a ply fold-over (6) from the carcass drum by means of a carcass transfer unit (12), * moving the carcass transfer unit (12) having the tyre carcass (10) to a sidewall station for arranging sidewalls (5, 11) on the tyre beads (13) of the tyre carcass (10) or moving the carcass transfer unit (12) having the tyre carcass (9) to a cambering drum (19) on which two sidewalls (5, 11) have been positioned in the region of the core clamping segments (2) in advance, * transferring the tyre carcass (9, 10) from the carcass transfer unit (12) to the cambering drum (19), * cambering the tyre carcass (9, 10) having the sidewalls (5, 11) connected in the region of the tyre beads (13), wherein the tyre carcass (9, 10) is joined to the belt/tread package (18), wherein the turn-up means (3) is moved by means of an external drive (16), which is arranged outside of the drum shaft (4) of the cambering drum (19).
