METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GLASS PRODUCT COMPOSED OF UV-PROTECTION GLASS, GLASS THAT CAN BE PRODUCED BY MEANS OF SAID METHOD, AND USES OF SAID GLASS

The invention relates to a method for producing a glass product (30) composed of UV-absorbing glass. The problem addressed by the invention is that of creating a UV-absorbing glass product suitable for the maintenance of monuments, for example as flat glass for window panes, glass cases, or the like. According to the invention the method comprises the following steps: a) producing a UV-protection glass melt (20) containing: SiO2 55 - 75 wt%, Na2O 0 - 18 wt%, CaO 0 - 10 wt%, K2O 5 - 15 wt%, B2O3 1 - 7 wt%, CdS 0.05 - 0.5 wt%, ZnS 0.1 - 0.4 wt%, ZnO 4.5 - 12 wt%, b) forming the glass product (30), c) controlling the temperature of the glass product (30) for a time (t) at a temperature (T), wherein the following applies: 540°C ≤ T ≤ 750°C and 1 h ≤ t ≤ 50 h.
