Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a device (10) for supplying a high-flying lightweight structure (60), in particular a stratospheric or mesospheric aircraft, with electrical energy using at least one solar cell (48). According to the invention, there is at least one radiation collector (12) for collecting solar radiation (20) and the at least one radiation collector (12) is optically connected to at least one radiation emitter (16) by means of at least one fiber bundle (14), wherein the at least one solar cell (48) can be irradiated by the at least one radiation emitter (16) by means of the solar radiation (20) collected by the at least one radiation collector (12) and conducted through the at least one fiber bundle (14) in order to generate electrical energy. Because the solar radiation (20) is collected at one location and converted to electrical energy at a different location thereto, aerodynamic and structural-mechanical advantages can be achieved, which enable, inter alia, a significant weight reduction of a high-flying lightweight structure equipped with the device (10).
