Zusammenfassung:A system for de-icing a fan of a gas turbine engine, comprising a fan (110), a nosecone (115) which is configured to remain stationary about a longitudinal axis of the gas turbine engine, an electrical coil (310) mounted to a non-rotating surface (335) of the nosecone (115), a magnet (320) mounted to a rotating surface (330) of the fan, the rotating surface (330) operatively associated with a rotating element of the gas turbine engine such that the rotating surface (330) rotates relative to the non-rotating surface of the nosecone (115) during operation of the fan, the magnet (320) and the electrical coil (310) thereby producing electricity during operation of the fan; and a heating element (340) operatively associated with a surface on the fan, the heating element (340) being powered by the electricity produced by the magnet (320) and the electrical coil (310).
