Zusammenfassung:	An apparatus for aligning plant leaf material transversely to a reference direction comprises a conveyor for advancing the material along the reference direction and first and second aligning means, coupled with the conveyor and configured to be movable between respective closed and open configurations. In their respective closed configurations, first and second aligning means intercept the advancing plant leaf material, so that it accumulates upstream. In their respective open configurations, first and second aligning means enable advancement of the accumulated material. The apparatus further comprises control means connected to first and second aligning means and configured to time the switching of the aligning means between open and closed configurations, so that at least part of the plant leaf material that has accumulated upstream of the first aligning means is further intercepted by the second aligning means.
