Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a motor vehicle lighting apparatus (40, 50, 60, 70, 90) having a laser light source (12) for emitting a primary light bundle (14) in a primary spatial angle range about a primary emission direction (16). The lighting apparatus (40, 50, 60, 70, 90) comprises a photoluminescent element (20) which is arranged in such a way that the primary light bundle (14) which can be emitted by the laser light source (12) strikes the photoluminescent element (20), for example, by means of intermediate optics or a beam guiding means (24, 74), and which photoluminescent element is designed in such a way that a secondary light distribution (22) can be emitted using photoluminescence by the striking primary light bundle (14). An emission optics device (24, 74) is also provided, said emission optics device being designed in such a way that the secondary light distribution (22) can be converted into an emission light distribution of the lighting apparatus (40, 50, 60, 70, 90). In order to increase reliability, an emission inhibiting means (30, 42, 52, 62, 72, 92) is provided, said emission inhibiting means being designed and arranged in such a way that the conversion into the emission light distribution (26) for light bundles which run, starting from the laser light source (12), in the primary spatial angular range about the primary emission direction (16) can be suppressed.
