Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a heating plate (5) for a hair-styling iron (1), in particular for a straightener, - having a main plate (7) with a first surface (8), which is designed to come into contact with hair which is to be shaped, and a second surface (9), which is located opposite the first, - and having an electric heating element (10), which is in thermal contact with the second surface (9), - wherein the main plate (7), on the second surface (9), has at least one recess (11) which constitutes an obstruction to heat flow and thus subdivides the first surface (8) into at least two different temperature zones (12, 13). This makes it possible to achieve a markedly improved hair-styling result.
