Zusammenfassung:	A monorail vehicle (4) comprises a chassis (20) supporting a first vehicle body (18) that includes a passenger floor (24), a first side wall (22), and a second side wall (22); first and second propulsion systems (10) supported by the chassis, each propulsion system (10) comprising an electric motor (38) and a drive wheel (12) coupled to a rotor (50) of the electric motor (38) with a rotation axis (84) of the drive wheel (12) coaxial with an axis (86) of the rotor (50). Each electric motor (38) and the drive wheel (12) coupled to the rotor (50) of the electric motor (38) are positioned on both sides of an imaginary plane extension (36) of the passenger floor (24). A first shell (42) covers portions of the first propulsion system (10); and a second shell (42) covers portions of the second propulsion system (10). The first shell (42) is positioned proximate to the first side wall (22), a first space (44) being defined between the first shell (42) and the second side wall (22). The second shell (42) is positioned proximate to the second side wall (22), a second space (44) being defined between the second shell (42) and the first side wall.
