Zusammenfassung:A process for preparing a heterogeneous titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst comprising the steps of impregnating a siliceous carrier with a titanium source, calcinating in a very precise conditions of temperature and time and optionally hydrolyzing and silylating the catalyst; as well as a process for the preparation of an alkylene oxide comprising reacting an olefin with an organic hydroperoxide in the presence of the heterogeneous titaniumbased catalyst prepared in accordance with the process of the invention.
