Zusammenfassung:A method and system for guiding an aircraft comprises defining an initial 4 dimensional flight trajectory, periodically determining a difference between a current measured trajectory and the initial 4D flight trajectory, and then issuing adjusted speed commands to the aircraft to reduce the determined difference between the measured and planned trajectories. In preferred embodiments, the 4D trajectory control complements a Required Time of Arrival (RTA) control strategy.
