Zusammenfassung:	The device comprises: a first image capture means (7) for image capturing a host vehicle vicinity; a sonar (12) which senses an object in the host vehicle vicinity; a second image capture means (14) for image capturing the left front corner of the host vehicle; an image compositing means for forming a bird's-eye image on the basis of the images which are captured with the first image capture means (7) and the second image capture means (14); and a control means (5) for controlling a switch of a display of a display means (13). The control means (5) establishes the display switch condition of the display means (13) on the basis of the travel state of the host vehicle when the sonar (12) senses the object and the travel state of the host vehicle when the sonar (12) does not sense the object.
