A sealable second furnace chamber is designed for receiving and for heat treating annealing material. A second heat exchanger is arranged in the second furnace chamber. The second heat exchanger is arranged within a housing section of the second furnace chamber. A closed transport fluid path is connected to the first heat exchanger and to the second heat exchanger for transferring thermal energy between the first annealing gas and the second annealing gas.
