An arc driver assembly (24) produces a magnetic field in the area of contact pairs. An arc conducting assembly (22) conducts the arc to a quenching apparatus (32). An arc conducting assembly (23) conducts the arc to a quenching apparatus (37). The conducting assemblies have a conducting plate (8) immovably accommodated in housing (6) and a conducting plate (29) connected at least partially rigidly to a bridge assembly (18) and arranged movably.
