Zusammenfassung:	The present invention is directed to a light-emitting rope (11), such as a fishing rope, which is provided on at least part of its outer surface with a luminescent material. The luminescent material may for instance be applied by intertwining common yarns with luminescent yarns (13). The rope of the invention can be used in fishing methods, such as fly shoot fishing, resulting in improved yields and improved quality of the fish caught.
