Zusammenfassung:	A transmission unit for a drive of a wheel (8) on a wheeled vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle, has a transmission, a connection shaft (20) for connecting the wheel (8) and the transmission and a clutch system which is divided in two, is provided between the wheel (8) and the transmission, is arranged on the connection shaft (20) and acts cardanically. The connection shaft (20) is led through a hollow wheel hub (22), and a first part of the clutch system is arranged on the side facing the transmission and a second part is arranged on the side of the wheel (8) facing away from the transmission.
