Spinning station for producing a yarn

The station (1) has a spinning nozzle (4) that is arranged with an inlet opening (5) for a fiber composite (3) having a swirl chamber (6). A set of directed air nozzles (21) is arranged in a region of the swirl chamber. A wall (7) is provided into the swirl chamber, and compressed air is introduced into the swirl chamber in a predetermined rotational direction. A removable ballast element delimits a volume flow of the air that flows into the swirl chamber. The ballast element is placed in a flow path of the compressed air between a compressor air source (9) and the air nozzles.
