According to one embodiment, an information processing method executed on an information processing apparatus configured to process recording data, the method characterized by including dividing the recording data into a plurality of recording data blocks, recording management information on corresponding first management regions in n storage media, the n storage media comprising a first storage medium to an nth storage medium, wherein n comprises an integer equal to or larger than 2, and recording the recording data blocks on corresponding second management regions of the n storage media by a controller configured to control the information processing apparatus, wherein the management information recorded on the n first management regions of the n storage media comprises medium peculiar information of the n storage media and cartridge peculiar information of a cartridge configured to store the n storage media.
