Zusammenfassung:	In general, this disclosure relates to techniques for management of a multimedia connection between a wireless communication device (WCD) and one or more output devices. The connection may be a multimedia interface connection with content protection, e.g., High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). In some cases, the multimedia interface connection with content protection may be inactive because the output device is no longer connected or the multimedia application is stopped or paused. The techniques include detecting a use mode of the multimedia interface connection with content protection between the WCD and one or more output devices. When the use mode of the multimedia interface connection with content protection is inactive, the WCD may reduce at least one of content processing or content protection processing. In this way, the techniques may reduce battery power consumption from multimedia processing by the WCD.
