The electric motor (19) includes a rotation shaft (23), a rotor (24) provided with a rotor core (24a), and a stator (26). The stator (25) includes a state core (26) and a coil (29). The coil (29) includes first and second coil ends (291, 292). The rotor core (24a) includes a refrigerant passage (70) having a first opening (701) that opens In the compression unit side. The first opening (701) includes a first radially outer region. First and second regions (Z1, Z2) in the housing (11) are in communication through the refrigerant passage (70). The first end plate (81) includes a first communication port (81h) arranged on a first region side end of the rotor core (24a). The first region (Z1) and the refrigerant passage (70) are in communication through the first opening (701) and first communication port (81h). The first radially outer region Is covered by the first end plate (81).
