Zusammenfassung:Device and method for clamping a weft thread (6) in a weaving machine, the device (1) comprises a central clamping element (10), a first outer clamping element (15), a second outer clamping element (16) and a drive device (22) that is adapted for displacing the central clamping element (10) from an intermediate position (P) to a first position and to a second position, wherein the drive device (22) comprises a pneumatic cylinder (30) comprising at least a piston (23), which piston (23) is directly coupled to the central clamping element (10) for a transmission of motion.
