An electromagnetic induction-type information input device that is capable of acquiring information input by a user using a writing tool causes first and second sensors to each perform processing that detects an output signal output from the writing tool (step S3). Among the first and second sensors, the sensor that has detected an output signal having the largest strength is identified as an identified sensor (step S7). A supply of electric power is stopped to a non-identified sensor, which is the sensor other than the identified sensor (step S9 or step S21). After the supply of electric power is stopped to the non-identified sensor, the identified sensor performs processing that detects a signal output from the writing tool (step S11 or step S23). Based on a detection result, a position of the writing tool is identified (step S 13 or step S25).
