Zusammenfassung:	The catheter has an expandable balloon (10) utilized for treating stenoses in bodily vessels. The expandable balloon is formed in an expanded state, and comprises a curved or wound three-dimensional (3D) form in the expanded state. Individual segments of the balloon are welded or glued together at bordering edges. Wires (32-34) are connected to material of the balloon along a curve i.e. helix, such that rigidity of the expandable balloon in an unexpanded state differs in a portion along a first line over the expandable balloon from rigidity along a second line over the expandable balloon. The wires are round wires, profiled wires, flat strips, straight wires and spiral wires. Die Erfindung betrifft einen Ballonkatheter zur Behandlung einer Stenose in einem Körpergefäß 2, insbesondere zum Einbringen eines Stents 1 in das Körpergefäß 2, wobei der Ballon 10 derart ausgebildet ist, dass er im expandierten Zustand die gekrümmte oder gebogene dreidimensionale Form des Körpergefäßes 2 annimmt.
