An example apparatus includes a fuselage (102; 602; 702; 802) of an aircraft having a first section (300; 604; 704; 804) and a second section (302; 606; 706; 806) to which a tail assembly (122; 610; 710; 810) is to be coupled. The second section (302; 606; 706; 806) is aft of the first section (300; 604; 704; 804) and is to extend to at least a trailing edge (308; 618; 718; 818) of a horizontal stabilizer (124; 612; 712; 812) of the tail assembly (122; 610; 710; 810). A first width of the first section (300; 604; 704; 804) decreases from a front to a rear of the first section (300; 604; 704; 804), and a second width of the second section (302; 606; 706; 806) is substantially constant.
