Zusammenfassung:	The steam turbine (1) has an outer housing (2), an inner housing (3) and a rotor (4) that is rotatbly supported within the inner housing, where the inner housing is arranged within the outer housing. A steam barrier seal (12) is formed between the outer housing and the rotor. The outer housing has an inlet opening (13) for blocking the steam barrier in an intermediate chamber (6). The inlet opening is fluidically connected with the steam barrier seal. An independent claim is included for a method for avoiding a housing distortion of a steam turbine during switching-off of the steam turbine.
