Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to an activated carbon produced by alkali-activating a raw coke or the heat treated product thereof produced by heating a raw coke under atmospheric pressure at a temperature of 550 to 900°C, with an alkali metal hydroxide, wherein the raw coke is produced by coking a feedstock composition at a pressure of 300 to 800 kPa and a temperature of 400 to 600°C. The feedstock composition comprises a first heavy oil with an initial boiling point of 300°C or higher, an asphalten content of 12 percent by mass or less, a saturate content of 60 percent by mass or more and a sulfur content of 0.3 percent by mass or less, produced as a residue resulting from vacuum-distillation of a petroleum-based oil and a second heavy oil with an initial boiling point of 150°C or higher and a sulfur content of 0.5 percent by mass or less, produced as a residue by subjecting a vacuum gas oil or desulfurized vacuum gas oil to fluidized catalytic cracking. The present invention relates also to an electric double layer capacitor comprising said activated carbon. |
