Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	A method for attaching a frozen specimen to an object is described. The method includes the steps: cooling the object to a temperature at or below that of the frozen specimen, where the temperature of the frozen specimen is at or below zero degrees Celsius; bringing the object into contact with the frozen specimen; and, bonding the object to the frozen specimen by directing a stream of vapor containing water onto the region of contact between the object and the frozen specimen, such that the vapor will condense and freeze, thereby joining the specimen to the object. The method of the invention therefore provides a new method of attaching a frozen specimen to an object such as a TEM grid for further analysis, without requiring the usual conventional deposition steps to bond the specimen to the object.
