Zusammenfassung:Abrasive grain (110) comprises a base body (115) having a bottom (116) and an opposite upper surface (118) and at least one attachment body (120) with a bottom which is arranged on the upper surface of the base body. The outer contour on the bottom of the attachment body extends completely within the outer contour of the top of the base body. Independent claims are also included for: (1) fabricating at least one abrasive grain or a set of abrasive grains, comprising (a) preparing or providing a dispersion comprising alpha -aluminum oxide particles and/or particles which are converted into alpha -aluminum oxide, and at least a volatile dispersion medium, preferably water, (b) filling the dispersion into at least one cavity of a mold, (c) optionally scraping off a top surface of the mold to remove at least a portion of the dispersion, which projects over the top of the mold, (d) removing a portion of the volatile components of the dispersion, such that at least one abrasive grain precursor is produced, (e) removing the abrasive grain precursor from the mold, (f) optionally calcining the abrasive grain precursor, and (g) sintering the abrasive grain precursor to obtain at least one abrasive grain; (2) a mold for producing at least one abrasive grain, comprising at least one cavity, preferably many recesses having a respective surface, where the surface is complementary to the shape of at least part of the surface of the abrasive grain; (3) an abrasive article comprising an aggregate of abrasive grains; (4) preparing an abrasive article, comprising fixing a set of abrasive grains in a substrate by a binder; and (5) abrading a surface, preferably a painted surface with an abrasive article.
