Device and method for separating processing products on a machine tool

The method comprises forming a workpiece blank by cutting a workpiece, covering a remaining workpiece of the blank after cutting, arranging the workpiece blank in a parallel workpiece plane, connecting workpiece blank and the surrounded remaining workpiece by a rear handle unit of a handling device, and separating workpiece blank and the remaining workpiece by engaging workpiece blank and the remaining workpiece using an engagement unit of the handling device. The rear handle unit of the handling device has an array in the workpiece plane. The method comprises forming a workpiece blank by cutting a workpiece, covering a remaining workpiece of the blank after cutting, arranging the workpiece blank in a parallel workpiece plane, connecting workpiece blank and the surrounded remaining workpiece by a rear handle unit of a handling device, and separating workpiece blank and the remaining workpiece by engaging workpiece blank and the remaining workpiece using an engagement unit of the handling device. The rear handle unit of the handling device has an array in the workpiece plane. The handling device is moved with a separating movement perpendicular to the plane of the workpiece relative to each other so that the workpiece blank is located outside of the remaining workpiece. The workpiece blank and the remaining workpiece are: separated from each other by fixing processing products of handling device and moving processing products in a release movement in the fixed state relative to the other machining product perpendicular to the workpiece plane; and are moved with the separation movement relative to one another by the handling device. Other processing product is moved perpendicular to the workpiece plane. A remaining product is maintained in a workpiece plane during the separation movement of the handling apparatus by a retaining force in the workpiece plane. The workpiece plane is oriented in a horizontal manner. The separating motion of the workpiece blank and the remaining workpiece is designed as a vertical movement based on the one of the processing products disposed in a vertical direction to the other of the processing products. The separating movement viewed over the surface of the blank workpiece and/or on the surface of the remaining workpiece is carried out with different amounts.
