Zusammenfassung:	The embodiments herein relate to a method in a near end radio link node for controlling power consumption in a radio link system. The near end radio link node is connected to a far end radio link node via a radio link. The near end radio link node obtains a granted rate of traffic on the radio link between the near end radio link node and the far end radio link node. The near end radio link node obtains a demanded rate of the traffic between the near end radio link node and the far end radio link node. The near end radio link node controls power consumption for the radio link system based on the granted rate and the demanded rate.
