A luggage piece (400) comprises a front side (105), a rear side (110), a top side (115), a bottom side (120), a right side (125) and a left side (13) that define an enclosed space; a base (160); a lid (155) pivotally joined to the base (160) by a hinge to pivot between a first position where the base (160) and the lid (155) define the substantially enclosed space and a second position that allows access to the substantially enclosed space; a carry handle (145) joined to the lid (155), the base (160) and the hinge. The luggage piece further comprises a plurality of wheels (135) joined to the bottom side (120) of the luggage piece (400), a handle positioned at the top side (115) of the luggage piece (400), and the carry handle (145) positioned at the right or left side (125, 130) of the luggage piece (400); and wherein the carry handle (145) is joined to the luggage piece (400) on the hinged side of the luggage piece (400).
